Western New England College School of Law student Chad Dauman is on track to receive his Juris Doctor in 2011. The recipient of a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in evidence and white collar crime, Chad Dauman is a top student at the College. A member of the Trial Team for more than a year, Chad Dauman is also a Katherine M. Connell Scholarship recipient. He participates as a Student Attorney in the Consumer Protection Clinic, which helps area residents with trials and negotiations.

During the summer of 2010, Chad Dauman performed Summer Associate duties for the law firm of Sasson Turnbull & Hoose. He worked closely with criminal defense attorney David Hoose on various research projects involving criminal procedure and constitutional issues. Chad Dauman expertly prepared legal memoranda and motions; he also developed defenses. Previously, as an Extern in the Office of the Chief Public Defender in Hartford, Connecticut, Chad Dauman helped represent criminal defendants at arraignments. He also interviewed various clients and researched motions.

Chad Dauman did not rest during the summer of 2009, choosing instead to be a Summer Associate with the City of Springfield Law Department in its Office of Code Enforcement. He brought non-complying landlords to court in order to ensure dwellings met safe standards. Chad Dauman performed a wide variety of legal tasks, including submission of dismissals and petitions.

A committed charitable giver, Chad Dauman supports Habitat for Humanity International and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
